Plagiarism Policy

L2CT Journal (Language, Literature, Culture, and Technology) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in academic publishing. To ensure originality, the journal conducts a Similarity Check on all submitted manuscripts before the peer-review process. The journal uses Crossref Similarity Check powered by iThenticate to detect duplication and improper attribution.

Definition of Plagiarism

  • Plagiarism occurs when an author presents another person’s work as their own without proper citation.

  • Duplicate publication (self-plagiarism) happens when an author republishes substantial parts of their own previously published work without referencing the original source. This includes submitting identical papers to multiple journals or fragmenting a study into smaller sections (salami-slicing) without significant new contributions.

Plagiarism Prior to Publishing

  • If plagiarism is detected at any stage (before or after acceptance), the editorial team will notify the author(s). Authors may be asked to revise the content or properly cite the sources.

  • If more than 30% of the manuscript is plagiarized, the article will be rejected.

When Does the Plagiarism Check Occur?

  • All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism after submission and before the review process begins.

How is Plagiarism Handled?

  • < 5% similarity: The manuscript is considered acceptable with minor revisions.

  • 5–30% similarity: The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.

  • > 30% similarity: The manuscript will be rejected without review. Authors may revise and resubmit as a new submission if substantial changes are made.

  • > 35% similarity: The manuscript is automatically rejected, as it indicates that meaningful revision is unlikely. Authors are welcome to revise thoroughly and submit as a new manuscript.

Originality

By submitting to L2CT Journal, authors declare that their manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism in any form, including duplicate publication of the author’s own work, in whole or in part, without proper citation. All detected cases will be handled according to the degree of plagiarism and in line with academic publishing ethics.

Plagiarism misrepresents ideas, words, and creative expressions, and constitutes a violation of copyright law as well as academic integrity.
